My favorite childhood book

Hmmm.  It's hard to pick a single favorite but I'd have to say "The polar Express" by Chris van Allsburg.  There's something special about the innocence of children and this book reminds me of that innocence and  Christmas, and how exciting it was to believe in Santa.  Also the illustrations are beautiful.

  1. I love this book! I used to teach second grade and the kids absolutely loved hearing this book and watching the movie. Now that I teach preschool, this book is a little long for my young ones, so I haven't read it in a while. your post makes me think that maybe I will rent the movie.

  2. I agree the illustrations are beautiful, and the movie was excellent as well. I thought even the animation used in this movie was beautiful as well and mimicked the book. I also love the innocence you see in children throughout this story and the magic of believing.
